I am a Postdoc in philosophy, currently based in CONCEPT (University of Cologne). My project “The Epistemic Importance of Narrative” is funded by the SNF Postdoc Mobility grant. The first part of this project was completed at COGITO (University of Glasgow). I am also a Research Associate at ACEPS (University of Johannesburg).
Before this, I completed my PhD at the University of Zürich, supervised by Prof. Anne Meylan (co-supervisors: Prof. Axel Gelfert and Prof. Kevin Reuter; examiners: Prof. Karen Frost-Arnold, Prof. Jeroen de Ridder). I am also part of Prof. Meylan’s ZEGRa research group. The title of my thesis was “Fake News and Social Media: Exploring Misinformation in the Digital Age”.
My areas of research are mainly social and applied epistemology. However, I am also interested in epistemology in general (and specifically questions related to epistemic normativity, inquiry, and understanding), political philosophy, ethics, and experimental philosophy. Because of my work on applied topics, I am intrigued by the overlap of philosophy and other academic disciplines, especially psychology and media studies.
I am a co-founder of Maarifa, an organization which hosts philosophy events in Kenya. Our next workshop on “AI, Knowledge, and Democracy” will take place in February 2027.
